Meet the Pack: Why Our Ambassadors Matter

As we roll into the heart of summer, the season of sun-soaked markets, sandy paws, and road trip snacks, we wanted to take a moment to spotlight something a little different—our ambassador program. If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ve probably seen some adorable pups repping Buff Cake Barkery treats on your feed. But what you may not see is the heart behind those posts, the purpose behind the program, and the care that goes into choosing the pawfect pack.

When we first started Buff Cake Barkery, it was just us, our rescue pup Zane, and a kitchen full of big dreams and small-batch dog treats. Every bag we sold, every event we showed up to, every tail wag captured in a photo—it all mattered. And it still does. As we grew, we knew we wanted to bring others into that mission, not just to promote what we do, but to belong to it. That’s how the ambassador program came to life.

We spent a lot of time researching what other brands were doing—who they chose, how they structured things, what they offered. We saw programs that didn’t require you to be a customer at all, or where anyone with enough followers could apply and instantly become part of the “team.” And while that might work for some companies, it didn’t feel authentic to who we are.

For us, being a Buff Cake ambassador means more than snapping a cute photo. It means you’ve actually tried our treats. You’ve seen your pup light up when the bag comes out. You’ve cheered us on during busy weekends, shared our posts, and tagged your friends. It means you’re part of our community—and that’s something we don’t take lightly.

That’s also why we introduced a “Junior Ambassador” tier—a three-month trial where we can all get to know each other a little better. Not every brand does this, but we’ve found it helps us build a pack that’s genuinely engaged and invested. At the end of the trial, some pups stay on, and sometimes there’s space for new faces to join. We plan to open applications every three months so things stay fresh and fair.

When we choose new ambassadors, we don’t just look at follower counts. We look at who shows up. Who supports other small businesses. Who shares our treats with joy and honesty. And who adds their own spark to this little corner of the internet we’ve built. Whether your pup is treat-motivated, camera-ready, or just full of charm, we’re looking for heart over hype—always.

This program isn’t just about growth—it’s about connection. Our ambassadors help us show the world what Buff Cake is really about: quality, care, and community. They’re helping to spread the word one photo, one paw, and one treat at a time.
